Now years after using console as hobby only, I find time to get myself to view around in KDE, finding it _very_ annoying that all the time Kmixer comes up with some stupid default settings which in result in a terrible beep on my notebook as Kmixer defaults to MIC=activated. KDE 2.2: KMix: File|Save current volumes as default KDE 1.x: I remember something like pressing Ctrl and a number (Yes, you can save more than one setting).
KDE is often difficult for first-time users and not very self-explaining...
Ever tried windows as a first time user?
(I have been programming assembler for 17 years, but I have never seen such a shit like Netscape under Linux, totally inreasonable and partly unlogic key kombinations, even WORSE than the ns-windoze version).
You could consider to change them. By the way, I did not realize that programming assembler was somehow related to creating shit.
