You can configure GDM to do this too...
I use KDM for 2 reasons; neither of which is particularly compelling: 1. KDM shows the users for that computer (assuming the default setup). This means that when I am working on different computers which have different users the KDM informs me what users names are valid for that computer. This helps the new users plus myself remembers what is the user name. My company also has a laptop that is basically a loaner for travel purposes. Whoever has borrowed the laptop can see/remember from KDM which user names are valid. -- James Ogley, Unix Systems Administrator, Pinnacle Insurance Plc james.ogley@pinnacle.co.uk www.pinnacle.co.uk +44 (0) 20 8731 3619 Using Free Software since 1994, running GNU/Linux (SuSE 7.x) This email was created and sent with Ximian Evolution 0.12
