I have installed SuSE7.2 (2.4 kernel) with iptables.
First of all ipchains was installed instead of iptables. I corrected this problem but now I run into problems when I run the commands "services" or "openports".
Yes, the default install does install ipchains.
Services doesn't do anything at all and openports gives the following error " ipchains produced errors, no default routing set up? "
I've never run either of these commands but running 'openports' gives me the same error even though I am quite happily running IPtables. I'd find some other command to run like 'nmap' to find open ports. I suspect openports (whatever it does, there's no man page for it) works with ipchains. My system doesn't have a services command.
Ipchains is no longer installed and I do have a default route.
I'm using iptables and would like to know how I can fix this problem.

Jay
