===== Hi, I've recently bought suse and so far so great.. i've switched over one windows machine to suse.. WOOHOO.. thing runs great.. without a hitch.. i've got another computer that i'm tryin to put suse on and it installs great.. everything works fine except for the network card.. i've got a dlink de-528 ct card in this machine and it seems that my bandwidth tops out at about 7k.. on local lan access and web.. i'm using dhcpcd to get the net information from my server (SuSE) and everything works, it's just bottle necked somewhere.. i'm dual booting right now (transition of course) and my windows machine uses the net just fine.. i get about 90k over the web access (cable modem).. it's just my network card under linux.. i can't understand how to fix this. on dlink's site they have a driver. but i'm to new to
Yep, after a fresh boot my console (at logon screen) says it found a RealTek network card.. so i went into yast2 and the existing driver is ne2000.. i tried changing it to the realtek driver it has in the list and it just won't take it.. keeps saying there's an error while it's trying to restart the network then reverts back to the ne2000 pci driver... i'm stomped... it sucks that i have to boot windows to download something :) <kicking windows> Ryan -----Original Message----- From: Jostein Berntsen [mailto:jostber@online.no] Sent: Saturday, September 01, 2001 3:35 PM To: Ryan Sexton; suse-linux-e@suse.com Subject: RE: [SLE] network card...
