I am trying to install courier IMAP from the latest tar ball and I am getting a "error cannot find gdbm or db library" when I run the configure
Thanks for the the quick response.. but alas.. I tried that... gdbm is
installed (gnome database manager) and the db package is the (bsd
manager). The courier faq points out if courier cannot find the openssl
libraries, it gives the aforementioned error.. the fix they have listed
isnt working for me though.. grrrrr
Thanks
Eric

gdbm and db have nothing to so with SSL. They are small database
libraries. Check to see if you have them installed, "rpm -q db" and
"rpm -q gdbm".

I have updated my system with the latest openssl tar balls and have installed them. According the install faq for courier, this is a
common
problem and doing a CCPFLAGS="-I/usr/local/ssl/include" LDFLAGS="-L/usr/local/ssl/lib" export CPPFLAGS export LDFLAGS and then running the config should fix this... It doesn't :( Does anyone out there have a fix to this? I need to run courier because of it's Maildir and qmail integration. This works fine on rh7.1 and I really don't want to have to tell my company we have to run redhat...
