Hi everyone, I am attempting to figure out how to share raw access to my printer via SAMBA. The reason I want to use raw access is that I want a Windows-based PC to be able to print to it using the normal HP driver rather than a Postscript driver. Any suggestions?
Thanks, Tim Hi Tim,
You don't mention what print system you are using. If cups you don't need to do anything except in smb.conf add the line printing = cups in the [global] section Then on your windows system install the driver you want to use. On lprold add something like the following to your /etc/smb.conf [raw] comment = Raw Printer printer driver = "your printer type" browseable = yes printable = yes public = no read only = yes create mode = 0700 directory = /tmp This then will show up when you attempt to install a driver on your win system Regards, Graham Smith _______________________________________
