I don't know if they've changed things in 2.4.7, but man swapon gives priority as a number between 0 and 32767, and when I do swapon -s I get priority 42 (another Adams reference?). Perhaps this is why your system doesn't use the swap areas, although what causes it, I can't say Regards Anders On Wednesday 01 August 2001 07:48, Alex Daniloff wrote:
Hello Linux folkz, I just recompiled a new 2.4.7 kernel. Everything went OK but I can't understand why KPM in KDE shows swap space as (none) 0K/0K and KDE Control Center shows Virtual memory as 0%? Although, when I do swapon -s it shows: Filename Type Size Used Priority /dev/sda1 partition 136512 0 -1 /dev/sdb1 partition 136512 0 -2 Looks normal to me Thank you in advance for any thoughts or ideas.
