It says 2.4.2-64GB-SMP.
I managed to build and install the nvidia driver just now by using the
tarball instead of the SRPM and by specifying the include directory on the
make command line.

Hi,
I am trying to build the nvidia kernel module (I cannot use the binary one since I have an SMP machine which nvidia does not provide a module for). The problem I am having is that when I use uname -a, I am told that the kernel version I have is 2.4.2-64GB-SMP, but when I build the kernel module and try to load it, I am told that it was built for kernel 2.4.2. How come?
What does your /usr/include/linux/version.h contain? You may need to match it contents to your kernel. Look for the appropriate version.h in /boot
