OK folks ....as I've loaded it up again and get this problem ?
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server Xlib: Client is not authorized to connect to Server
Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display: :0.0
Usually, it's not a problem, it's a feature: malusek@photon:~ > whoami malusek malusek@photon:~ > su am1 Password: am1@photon:/home/malusek > emacs Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server Xlib: Client is not authorized to connect to Server emacs: Cannot connect to X server :0.0. Check the DISPLAY environment variable or use `-d'. Also use the `xhost' program to verify that it is set to permit connections from your machine. If I want to to start emacs under the am1 account and display it on my X-server, then I can do it like this: malusek@photon:~ > sux am1 Password: xauth: creating new authority file /home/am1/.Xauthority am1@photon:/home/malusek > emacs # It works now See also X(7), Xsecurity(7), xauth(1), and xhost(1) and note that sux uses xauth. ("xauth list" is a good starting point if you want to understand how the MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 mechanism works.) -- Alexandr.Malusek@imv.liu.se
