Hi Folks,
In my opinion, TTssh is the way to go. Putty is nice, but it doesn't support port forwarding. TTssh allows forwarding of arbitrary ports to the remote server, almost like a VPN. It's also totally free, with NO advertisiong.
Check http://www.zip.com.au/~roca/ttssh.html for further info.
That's what most of the Winders people here use. I just put together a Windows box (I'm writing portable software) and I simply installed Cygwin, which includes Bash, CVS, SSH, GCC, and all of those other goodies we take for granted. You can find it somewhere on redhat.com. It'll even install over the net. The best part is that I'm familiar with it and it doesn't screw up terminal emulation like Tera Term does. Well, the other best part is that I can download tarballs of many pieces of software and 'configure && make && make install' it without problems. Bliss... almost. - -- James Oakley Engineering - SolutionInc Ltd. joakley@solutioninc.com http://www.solutioninc.com -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.5 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iD8DBQE7O5fu+FOexA3koIgRAtgHAJ9ZYZQimm74CbLH95PSwKY9meqvWgCcCrVr XNI2w8C/l9Le66ulh4DDdhs= =4/Ju -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
