Hi...
some people here in france are questionning themselves about the G450 mtrox vid card. THe questions is does it work with a xfree 3.3.6 (from a debian potato release), or does it need something else.... some people here talked lately about their own matrox, but could they give more details regarding their configuration please ?
It will not work under 3.3.x. You need 4. I highly recommend grabbing the latest X from ftp.suse.com as it includes the Matrox provided drivers. There is also a README that explains how to get a configuration with SaX. If you don't follow those instructions, the machine will lock up (at least it did when I first tried it a while back). Once it's up, it's great. You can then grab the pdesk rpm from Matrox. I have some notes on my config file at http://arthur.funktronics.ca/arthur/ETC_X11_XF86Config The information is a little old, I have dri on and working great now.
