In the file /usr/share/doc/NVIDIA_GLX-1.0/usr/include/GL the are 3 files - gl.h, glx.h, and glxtokens.h. Acording to the Nvidia readme and instructions, it suggest copying gl.h and glx.h to /usr/include/GL if "you want to make use of these headers" (I copied all 3). This has appaently helped because the choppiness I was experiencing is no longer present. I also gave these file read and execute permissions (no write) - I don't no if this is wise but no problems so far. I'm only concerned about execute permission my have some secutiry issues - but since I not adept in this area please inform me if it does compromise my system. Anyway, I also check some of the drivers and character devices (eg /dev/nvidia0, etc and did the same). Don't know it this was necessary but overall much better performance. Cheers. Harold,
Try Ctrl + Alt + F7 which is where your X session lives..not F1 :)
