hi folks; Been running SuSE since 6.0 and I never had one with no flaw. Now I'm running 7.1 with some major errors and problems. I tried everything, but I don't want lose more hair. I skipped so many nights of sleep since 1998. The inconsistency of Linux raises some questions. Why do we put express releases to the market before they're majure? I guess Linux is far away from being accepted by the masses since it still needs a great effort of configuration from the end user. These're some of my errors. <SNIP> Configuring serial ports... ttyS0 at 0x03f8 (irq = 4) is a 16550A ttyS1 at 0x02f8 (irq = 3) is a 16550A modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module char-major-4 modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module char-major-4 modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module char-major-4 But my modem and serial work perfect! I don't have to be a rocket scientist. I could have graduated from U those years. Those hardware worked well, but every new version of SuSE has different errors. Sorry and thanks
