malloc() is a call for dynamic memory allocation. it's a function from one of the c and c++ libraries but it's probably used by other programming languages. a common cause of memory leakage is forgetting to call free() after malloc(). can't imagine why your copy of netscape is outputting that error message. my guess is that it has nothing to do with malloc(). possibly a screwed up file. larry Matthew wrote:

What version of Netscape? What version of SuSE?
Is malloc concerned with memory? How much memory do you have?
Never seen that error before :-).
