Yast reports no window manager found

Good day, Anyone know how to fix the problem when selecting window managers and having yast report or similer error? I tried upgrading Gnome to 1.4 and also messed a bit with devfs (going to wait on that one!). I have looked through but cannot find the answer and have tried re-installing, installing different Window Manager to see if it would fix it. The biggest problem is getting the graphical login screen (kdm) to show all the Window Managers installed. I can use KDE, but not Gnome. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks, Matt
