Hey there! Plaease add APT for RPM do your next SuSE release. All the time I hear people telling me about the great APT tools that have been available for .deb packages for years. That's one of the main reasons for people to stick with Debian, because update and installation is quick and easy. Do something like "apt-get update && apt-get upgrade" and your system is up to date. But noone mentions that APT was improved to support RPM by a brasilian linux distributor called Conectiva. I have been working with this for quite a while now and I love it!! It works with SuSE 7.1 (with some small bugs, due to incorrect package dependencies). Perhaps the use of this tools would help to avoid problems like this?!?! And Updates via FTP would be that easy ... So please: Get this into your next release. To all users out there: If you'd like to have a easy and fast way to install packages - simply reply to this mail. The more messages appear on SuSE's mailing list, the more likely the support. If you want to know more about APT - feel free to send me email. Ciao, Marcel
