Depends on what devices you want to connect. A Fast or Wide SCSI 50 pin card is well within your price range, however a dual channel Ultra Wide 160 would exceed your range. I have two machines with Advansys SCSI cards (I think they are 940's) with 50 pin connector that are used for scanning and external CD writer. The Advansys cards are usually $10-15 cheaper than Adaptec. I have used these Advansys cards since SuSE 6.2 to 7.1 and the cards and SuSE have worked great. I think Advansys has recently changed to become Connectcom. For higher speed I use a LSI-Logic SYM8951(was Symbios) for the hard drives. It also works great with SuSE. Might be pushing your $150 price limit though. Price wise the LSI-Logic card is the same price or slightly less than a comparable Adeptec. For installation SuSE 7.1 recognizes both cards and everything is setup automatically, no hassles. For some earlier versions of SuSE, I think you have to specifically load the modules. Based on my experiences the Advansys and LSI-Logic cards work well with SuSE. Ralph Sanford - If your government does not trust you, rsanford@telusplanet.net - should you trust your government?
