It's easy to look into post-install scripts contained within rpm. Midnight commander can be used for browsing, e.g. Nothing is concealed.
Yes it is. As I'm treating myself to a prolonged Weekend (1st of May is a holiday, so I just need one extra day to have four days in a row :), I just might find the time to make a SuSE compatible RPM out of it. The only problem I see is making it available, as I guess the license wouldn't allow it.
The only problem I have with rp8 is that it seems that the plugin for netscape doesn't work and quite a few sites require it. Seems the only reason for that is that it enables them to force you to use their own web applet that leaves them room for their own ads .........

I don't know if I am missing something here, but the rp8 netscape plugin works fine for me. I used the executable bin file to install rp8. Having selected the plugin option etc. etc. I found that it didn't work. Thinking that I hadn't selected that option I started up rp8 and through the help menu attempted to install the plugin. This time it worked and does work fine. I think I suggested this in response to earlier queries, but I don't think it was taken on board. Hey, maybe my system's unique! :-) Eddie
