Please could you offer advice on the following problem. I have just bought a PC and have decided to install SUSE 7.1 professional, kernel 2.2?? not 2.4. The installation went perfectly and I am trying to install the package x3270 series xap. The problem I have is how to achieve this in YAST.
When I select LIST PACKAGES I can see the package, but when I search the source medium ( [X} in the source medium box, [X] in the system box and [X] in the case sensitive box) the search(pf5) returns no such package. As a result there is nothing for me to select to install. I have CD1 in the drive I press pf9 install medium that seems to read the CD.
I know this is probably a very stupid question but I would appreciate it if somebody could spare the time to explain where I am going wrong.
Thanks in advance
Not a stupid question. However, you might try Yast2 single package installation module. With CD1 in the drive, it will present you with the inventory of all packages and tell you what's installed and what's not. Has always worked great for me.
