I'm running the 2.4 kernel, and trying to figure out the iptables. My old ipchains setup worked fine. What I want is quite simple: I have a local ethernet with a couple of machines in 192.168.1.x address space. I also have a token ring network (uk!) in 9.20.x.x address space. The token ring is the company network, and includes the gateway out onto the Internet. I want to set up the masquerading so that anything from 192.168.1.x is forwarded onto the company network. Last time I used the ipchains HOWTO and it all made sense and it all worked pretty much much first time. The HOWTO is still in the process of being updated and although I've found quite a bit to read on iptables, none of it starts at the beginning. Can someone point me in the right direction?
