Well a person also asked this question but i am asking it in a diffrent way ...
Why is Suse linux like this why havent they release thier version iso version of 7.1 ? "not talking about the live evaluation version " look @ Redhat they have release 3 CD images of thier new 7.1 which is still going to be shipped after 20th .. I am new to suse & still waiting for this 7.1 professional ... by this time i have lost my intrest to be exact why should i go for suse 7.1 when even newer Redhat & FreeBSD are avaliable ... :-(
Go for it. But SuSE has everything that this has except their TUX webserver. The same kernel, same KDE, Same XFree, and so on. I can't say what is on FreeBSD. But I also checked the prices. Sure, you can download all three CD's. And that's all you get. No support except mail lists, Print what little documentation they have on your own printer. Now on the other hand, you can purchase it from whatever company you want. The deluxe workstation from linuxcentral is $74.95. With this you get about 300 apps, including SO 5.2, Acrobat 4.05, a couple of loki demos, and some other free stuff that is available. Oh, you can also get 60 days update support for 5 machines and telephone base support. OH, and a free RedHat hat.. As always it's your choice. But for the money, it just doesn't add up.
