Yes. I remember choosing this option and also threw in a few others that related to floppy drive support. I think I opted to have them built directly into the kernel.
Also make sure that if floppy support was compiled as a module the module is loaded. A `modprobe floppy' could do the trick.
I tried the modprobe floppy command. Here's the results:

Any kernel hackers out there who can tell me how to correct this? Please help. This is way over my head.
