I have downloaded the whole suse 7.1 folder (from a local mirror on my campus) and have problems to install it from the harddisk using the bootdisk that I found in /7.1/disks. After typing in the right information concerning hd and path, the installer complains about not finding the right file and thus I cannot continue the installation. When spying on console 3 the installer seems to be looking for a file /7.1/setup/inst-img but there is not such a file in /7.1/setup I experimented putting an image from the /7.1/images folder to the /7.1/setup folder and naming it inst-img but this doesnt work. The only difference is that under console 3, when mentioning the right disk and path I get a loopmount=-1 returned. I dont get such a message when typing in a wrong path or hd or when there isnt an inst-img file at all (as on the suse - ftp). I then tried an ftp installation first with the mirror then with ftp.suse.com but this doesnt work either. I get the same problem, that the files cannot be found. (I typed in the ip-numbers of ftp.suse.com and just to be sure of ftp2.suse.com and mentioned the path /pub/suse/i386/7.1 I also tried to install linux from hdd with the setup.exe and loadlin from dos. I also tried the bootdisk that can be found in the update directory. I wonder that nobody seemed to have this problem before, since I cannot find any information concerning this problem on the web. help appreciated, Severin
