I am having some difficulties getting SuSE 7.1 to install on some drives okay
My setup as a general rule for play or work is this........
partitions are as follows. / 1500M /home 1500M /usr 6000G /var 1500M /stuff 3000M > for my personal rubbish................
I use the /mbr for installs and this time I have enough money to put in a scsi adaptec 29160 with 3 seagate barr's in place......... I know w/ scsi I need to have a initrd in the /boot for the driver however on the default install on 7.1 it is making the proper line in the lilo.conf however the file itself is missing out of the /boot
So if I install 2.2.18 this is not working either, I have to put the OS into place and then boot from the cd and fix everything...........then it works after I recompile the adaptec into the 2.4.2 kernel Am I doing this right, because it seems broken on installs even w/ older 2940 cards .......
If there's no initrd in /boot, then maybe you should try making one with the mk_initrd command. Put the modules that you want to load in the INITRD_MODULES variable in /etc/rc.config, run mk_initrd, run LILO, and everything should work as modules (hopefully...).
