I am using the IBM Deskstar 75 GXP 75 GB ATA 100 disks. I will tell you
that I have run into some issues with promise cards... I am currently
using a 3Ware card. I have also had decent results with the SIIG cards.
The trick with the software RAID is getting the software to recognize when
a failure occurs. It seems the best way around this is to limit your
config to 1 IDE disk per controller.
