Howdy folks...
I've got myself a bit of a problem -- and, while I've done a bit of research into the potential solution, I'll be darned if I can understand what needs to be done.
I'm a reasonably experienced linux user -- not an expert, but have some familiarity with the OS and basic day to day administration. Basically, I thought I'd save a couple of bucks and buy 7.1 personal, and install the rest of the components off the FTP site. No big deal, right?
All went well, except for the installation of PHP. Now, apache won't restart.
I get the "/usr/lib/apache/libphp3.so into server: shared object not open" failure error.
Checking the help docs was no real help -- it mentioned something about upgrading GD, which I've done.
So, what do I do? I've tried removing references to PHP3 from the httpd.conf, only to get the same error about php4.so. All the components seem to be there and ready to go...
Another question -- do I need php3 installed if PHP4 is installed?
Thanks a lot... other than this SUSE has been excellent. My sound card even works now... WOOHOO! -- jon
