After a kernel recompile PPP is broken. Log is below. Connection is through a USB modem. Can anyone suggest where I should be looking for a solution ? When I do make menuconfig the PPP stuff looks ok. In addition PPP worked ok after the initial install.
What ppp version and kernel version are you using? The errors below look very much like the error messages you would get if you were using a 2.4.x kernel with pppd < 2.4.x... Is ppp a module? If it is, make sure you have an entry in /etc/modules.conf looking like: alias tty-ldisc-3 ppp
