Hello Sjoerd, Try what worked for me. If your /etc/fstab entry fit the Zip drive refers to /dev/hdd1 then you must remove the partition number " 1 "............................................................................................^. Then you can mount the Zip with " mount /zip " If there is NO fstab entry for the Zip then you should issue the same mount cmd that you noted in your post, BUT WITHOUT the partition number 1. I now have the ability to mount both LS-120 super floppies and SCSI MO ( magneto optical ) cartridges. I do not have a zip drive; so I have not tested it. I know that there is a 'special' Zip cartridge called "ZipTools" which is formatted to be read by BOTH MS-DOS and Apple Mac machines. The ZipTools disk may not mount properly, yet regular MS-DOS formatted Zip disks should work OK. Good Luck! ................ Pete VC Sjoerd Venema wrote:
Hi,
When I try to mount my IDE ATAPI Zip drive in SuSE 7.1 I get the following error
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/hdd1
I mount with mount -t vfat /dev/hdd1 /zip
Anyone knows what's wrong??
