Try /etc/init.d/boot.local I'm about ready to install 'ide-scsi emulation' on my Beast later today, so that my PlexStor PleXwriter 8/4/32 can be controlled by xcdroast. (It worked ok as an IDE CDROM.) JLK
it is not on my system. I am using kernel 2.4
