Hello, Anyone familiar with compaq's system saver (drive D:\ ) ? I have attempted an install only to be shot down because space is not recognized correctly. Let me rephrase that, I don't seem to be able to get at C:\ to carve out a linux partition. This is a 60G drive with ~45G available (on C:\). However, I guess because D:\ is an extended partition, the space on C:\ can't be accessed. Also, I will lose use of some programs if I format and install win98 from my copy of win98 SE, as the discs that came with the machine are companion, recovery-type discs (Word 2000, etc.) and work with the system saver. There are also many other proprietary programs that will be uninstallable. Now I don't personally give a rat's butt, but this is my wife's machine and must remain usuable as is with win98 and all the proprietary crap. Am I looking at having to use PM or something, or can fdisk do this? (it didn't appear to). Or?? All that room and no Linux....I can't stand it! ;-) Thanks. -- Tom Bishop tb64710@alltel.net RLU #12043 SuSE 7.1 PRO
