Even though I compiled my scsi drive as [*] when I ran my new kernel XSane wouldn't connect. So, on a lark, I tried as root "insmod sg" and it worked! The scsi card was compiled as a module even though I had it set as part of the kernel. Funny thing, I saw the scsi scan the scanner and identify it as the kernel was booting. Strange. hi everybody since i update to kernel-2.4.0 i've lost my scanner. It's a HP scanjet 5p. I can't make it work now. so is there something different or did i make something bad. i set SCSI generic support to y and symbios 53c416 support to y too.
another question i've got this error message : modprobe: Can't locate module net-pf-10. how can i know where i can active this module? is there a list of modules whith what they do, or do i have to read all with make xconfig?
thank you very much. Charlie Ti
