Try to start apache from the command line without redirecting the output.
It might tell you what the problem is. In the past I found that a missing

I have just installed SuSe 7 for the first time and am getting the following error when I go to load Apache.
Starting service: htpd./apache:line 136: 1657 Segmentation fault /usr/sbin/httpd -t -f /etc/httpd/httpd.conf $MODULES >/dev/null 2>&1 :
Syntax error om httpd.conf
I wonder if anyone can help please??
