/etc/chftp? Perhaps you mean /etc/ftpchroot. If a user listed in /etc/ftpchroot logs in via FTP the FTP server changes the root directory to the user's home directory, i.e., the user can't access files outside of his home directory via FTP. Since a symbolic link is only a reference to another filename it is interpreted relative to the current root directory. If anonymous is listed in /etc/ftpchroot the symlink points to /usr/local/ftp/mnt/raid1 when accessed from an anoymous FTP login. If you want the filesystem to be accessible from within the chroot environment, it must be mounted below /usr/local/ftp.
