Fips works fine -- but only on FAT16 or FAT32 partitions (AFAIK). You have to boot into a real DOS somehow to use it, after defragging your drive. For NTFS you may need something commercial -- such as Partition Magic If you are using FAT16 you probably have several partitions anyway -- why not copy all the stuff out of one of them, then reformat and repartition it for Linux?
