on SuSE 7.0 sparc port there is a program in the "ap" directory that gives smp info from the console, (i really don't remember the name, maybe smpinfo?, i can look tommorrow if you want) i just got SuSE loaded on my sparc 20 ( dual SM51 ) and really haven't been able to play with it yet, i read at kernel.org a howto file on smp which was very informative, it suggests that there is valid reasons to NOT trust xosview as it exercises the cpus in order to get a load indication, and thereby gives an exagerated load display, i haven't tried gkrellm on the sparc yet, but i really like it on my single cpu i386 box, i don't know if it acquires the load data in the same way as xosview.....i was kinda hoping "top" would show individual lines for each cpu, but it just says "cpu loads"........ maybe the kde process manager (KPM) shows the individual cpus, i haven't tried it yet..... good luck, don Chuck Carson wrote:
Are there any commands I can use to check the status of CPU's in an SMP box? ie Can I tell that both CPU's are functioning and any other usefull info I can gather.
Thanks greatly, CC
