Try running "esd" from the command line (ESD= Enlightenment Sound Daemon)... That should do it.
So far I've found the home page at...... http://www.tux.org/~ricdude/EsounD.html The docs on the site are there but not all that easy to understand. looks as though 'esdctl' is the command option for this. Now all I have to do is work out how to use esdctl. -- Richard
