Hello, Cees.
I tend to get a little confused between X-Server and X-Client. I will
assume, for my answer, that you want to run an application on your Windows
box that allows you to attach to the xdm/kdm of your Linux box and run an X
session.
I wanted to do this recently, and found that VNC does the job admirably.
Usually used for remote control, it can be added to inetd to spawn a new
session when a user connects, so it is fully multi-user capable. They have
full documentation on how to do this on their website, and it took me about
10mins to set it up. Very simple, but not an optimised solution. If you
need higher performance, then this probably won't work, but it works just
great for all the stuff I've needed it for.

Bear in mind that Andre's page tells you to add his iXvnc patch. This patch
is included in 3.3.3r2 of the *nix version. But the instructions for
configuring it are still right.
Bye for now,
Stuart.

<p>LS,
Does anybody know a good working OpenSource X-Windows server which
runs under MS Window 98, NT, etc.?
Regards,
Cees.
