Boot from the copy you made of the bootdisk. If you don't have a copy, boot into your linux somehow and dd an appropriate bootdisk from your cdrom to a blank floppy ( I think the disk images are in the /disks directory on the cdrom). Floppy disks, like any other media, can degrade over time -- If you can't get into linux but can get into DOS (puke!) then you can use the rawrite.exe utility to do the same thing.
Hello "muzh" . . . and, thanks :) I can boot from CDrom ok { and LILO is booting ok } .. . . Just mystified, that, with the 1 exception of "Tom's Killer Boot_Disk" , in every other case, LILO over-rides BIOS instruction to Boot first from floppy A: { feels like Gary may be on to something ~ has Mandrake's 'grub' done some monkey_business ?} best wishes -- ____________ sent on Linux ____________ 100% Virus Free!
