Subject: Aureal Sound Card on SuSE Linux 6.4 with KDE 2.01
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to get the Aureal AU88xx driver to work with my Turtle Beach Montego
A3D (Dell/OEM) in KDE 2.0.x (on SuSE 6.4). It worked fine (except it would stop
after awhile though) in KDE 1.x, and works fine with programs such as XMMS.
However, when KDE 2.0 started up, it would be shown in KMix, but wouldn't actually
output anything. Worse, in KDE 2.0.1, I can't seem to get KMix to even recoginize
it, much less for and KDE/aRts based app to output sound.
I'm using the Linux.Aureal.com version (1.05), not the SourceForge version of the
driver. Does the same problem exist with the SourceForge driver, or has it been
fixed? Any ideas? I keep checking the ALSA project, but they don't support this
card - although the Card Matrix seems to think it is possible. :-(
Thanks,
Tim
