hi,
i'm running qmail-smtpd, when somebody connects to port 25 and issues the following commands
helo 220 server.com mail from:
#i get a response saying 250 ok this is dangerous as people could assume false identities and send mails. is there any way by which qmail can prevent this from happening like doing a reverse dns lookup or so.
from www.qmail.org/top.html Nagy Balazs wrote a patch to ensure that the domain name on the envelope sender is a valid DNS name (local copy by request of author). This ensures that you do not receive email which you cannot bounce, should that prove necessary. http://www.qmail.org/qmail-1.03-mfcheck.3.patch
