Subject: Processor Power and SuSE 7.0 ?
I have been compiling most of my apps that are available as source
and I currently run an "old faithful" AMD K6-2/400 3DNow processor.
Seems it is slow as the apps are growing in source, etc., and even though
the bus speed is 100Mhz on an Asus P5A with 320megs PC100 RAM, and a 7500rpm
EIDE, a UW SCSI bus with UW periph's, all in all, the processor seems to be
the anchor
under SuSE 7.0 ? With all the latest chip improvements, what's a good
MB/processor
combo for a current Linux distribution with general requirements ?
I know Tom's Hardware has a good site, but is there anything specific for
Linux ?
Thanks and Regards
/Dee
