Yes, unless you plan on using some of the apps for kde1 (not all apps
have migrated over). In which case you may need the base install of kde1
to run them (but I'm not positive on that). Worse case is you uninstall
it, run kbiff or something and it won't launch, but as to kde2, kde1 is
not required.
