I upgraded from 6.4 to 7.0 and have noted and I can no longer compile programs using GCC compiled from cvs sources. Any attempt to compile a program using g++ (from cvs source) results in:
merlin% g++ image.C /home/gdr/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-linux-gnu/2.97/libstdc++.so: undefined reference \ to `_IO_cleanup'
I think that the problem is with SuSE and its shared libc library. A quick nm | grep reveals:
merlin% nm /lib/libc.so.6 | grep _IO_cleanup 0004f700 t _IO_cleanup
whereas
merlin% nm /usr/lib/libc.a | grep _IO_cleanup ~/tmp/src U _IO_cleanup 00000c40 T _IO_cleanup
Does anyone know the magic cure?
I don't personally, but I have forwarded your request to our hackers. Let's see, if they have a magic cure :) LenZ -- ------------------------------------------------------------------ Lenz Grimmer SuSE GmbH mailto:grimmer@suse.de Schanzaeckerstr. 10 http://www.suse.de/~grimmer/ 90443 Nuernberg, Germany Today is a "Honey do day" Honey do this, honey do that.. -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq
