Thanks Guys. I'm not too bothered about speed. It's just that my Linux server is a rather old P166 which doesn't support drives > 8.4Gb (and it doesn't have a flash BIOS) so I need to add a Promise card to give me large HD support. I've used the Ultra100 with SuSe 7.0 (SMP kernel) with no problems. Of course my drives aren't 100's (just 66's) so I can't say whether the full capabilities of the Ultra100 can be accessed. I happened to do a fresh install of 7.0 and the whole process was transparent (note, did _not_ work with 6.4 stock installation for me..:).
