I am having sme problems with my lan since I started to use linux on my client pcs... I have a ipmasq machine, it works fine great awith my win9x clients, but with my linux suse 6.4 pcs.... it just does not work, I mean the pcs see ping the ipmasq machine, but thee can not go out to the internet.... and if they do it is only a couple of times.. then afret that they just do not resolv any name, I do not know why because they are using the same DNS than my win 9X pcs... however it is happening... can some of you let me know a good DSN server, IP, and let me know if you have had troubles like this one, cheers
I had a similar scenario but different trouble. My Linboxes were able to see the world outside, while Windows were giving IP conflicts. It was solved when I placed windows boxes on a different/seperate switch behind the masqd box. While you wait a decent response, try manupulating this scenario to see if something works out for you. I don't see it as a DNS problem if anyone of the boxes is able to see the outside world while the configuration on the rest is similar.
