Leafnode runs best when run as a night job, and your newsreader is
located on another machine.

i've been playing around on serveral nntp access methods.. i'm on a dialup, and i dont have one single isp. so i got an account in news.cis.dfn.de ( i dont know what is it .. an university ?). But it is very slow, i get ping times of almost 2.5 secs. I'm running leafnode & fetchnews, but it makes it even slow. I switched to slrnpull, but i couldn't configure it properly enough to act as a newsserver or feed inn or someother dedicated server. Then i started suck, but i feel it is too rudimentary . Can u people tell me the best and the fastest way ?
btw: when i run top i see several nntp processes what are those?
