I too need to buy a printer that can give me photo quality colour direct from the gimp, and haven't found a hard guarantee from anyone who's done this, though the below 'perfect' database claims the sta drivers are as good as windows... so I guess I'll take the plunge with a 760 or thereabouts. I also need to buy a scanner - is worth getting an Epson Perfection with USB? Anyone had success with a none SCSI set up / USB and xsane plugins to GIMP? filters in SuSE 6.4 only support low resolution with evident dithering and EPS PrintPro gives good high resolutions but a terrible uncorrectable colour balance. I am reduced to rebooting into Win98 to get good quality prints :( and last night Win98 ate my main data partition :( again :((. So if I can't get software to drive my printer I'll get a printer that runs on my software !
So can anyone recommend an inkjet printer that will give good photo quality prints either under the standard filters of with EPS PrintPro?
