You could try using mysqldump to dump the contents to a file and then pipe it into another db i.e. athlon machine> mysqldump -u -p mydatabase -add-drop-table -all > myfile.sql (see mysqldump for more details) generates a nice file with create tables, inserts etc send myfile.sql to ppc machine ppc> mysql -u -p mydatabase < myfile.sql hth Surjit

Is it possible to directly copy databases created using mySQL on an Athlon platform (anyone remember an old company called Intel?) to the same version of mySQL but running on a PPC platform?
