Sorry, I just saw this thread. Just so you know. The Kernel that shipped with SuSE 6.3 had problems with what's called changeline support. Changeline support is when you insert and remove floppies and zip disks and have the issues you are having. You should upgrade your kernel if you haven't. When I updated mine the problem went away. You should be using the 2.2.16 kernel for security reasons anyway...so if you upgrade then your problems should disappear...mine did. :) * Alvaro A.
