I would look at the WORLD market..not just the U.S market. If you are just looking at Branding = Price and not Value and good engineering to equal price. This is not a good thing ;D
Agreed. But, that isn't how many americans think. Remember these are the stupid people that pay hundreds of bucks so they can have some designer clothes manufactures' name all over them. ;-)
I also wouldn't call SuSE a "small OS" because they are THE linux distribution that is defining the AMD sledgehammer arch. Do some
I didn't mean SuSE, but Linux in general. When Windows has 85% of the market, no other OS (for the moment) is a big one. Linux looks like it has a big future, and big power - but it isn't a big OS (in marketshare/mindshare).
research on SuSE and who they employ and what they contribute to Linux. SuSE doesn't just "compile and support _other_people's_software" they write a lot of software that one
Right. I know they created YaST2, help with KDE, Alsa, Reiser, etc. You guys do a lot of good stuff. What I was referencing was the majority of the vast 1,500 app collection.
might not know about. Redhat is good for shouting the loudest in the states..but don't think that SuSE is 2nd string by any means.
Certainly, I like SuSE 10x better than RedHat. I'm mainly talking on experience that I might not have tried SuSE at the new price system.
I hope you stay with SuSE...SuSE is working on some very interesting things that will amaze and astound you over the next year! :)
Don't worry, I will. I have yet to see another Linux distro come up to the
standards of SuSE. To quote a SuSE ad I saw in Linux Magazine... "
